First things first, right? 😉

My name is Armann Jakob Palsson, and I was born in 1980. I’m happily married to my best friend, we started dating in December 1997, wow I feel old. We have three amazing children that are the light of my life and two dogs that I love and use as my stress test. If they annoy me, I know I’m off. 🙂

We are from Iceland, it is an amazing country but for years we both knew that God had something else on the horizon for us but we had no clue what that might be. He asked us to be faithful and pursue Him no matter the cost. It certainly cost us, we had to make multiple hard decisions that didn’t make much material sense to friends and family. We both knew that the purpose of life is ultimately about more than material abundance so we both wanted to pursue that purpose with our whole lives.

In Early 2017, things started to come into being. God was leading us towards the horizon and in June 2017 we moved to Canada. It was sight unseen, we didn’t know the first thing about Winnipeg, for instance that it has great summers and cold winters. We didn’t know so many practical things, where would we live, where would the kid’s go to school? We didn’t have a car, finances were a question mark, etc. But God was calling and we gave most of our stuff away and hopped on an airplane with five suitcases, our dog and our cat. 🙂

I’ll write blogs in the future about certain details and the overall process but since June 2017, I have worked as one of the pastors at Anchor Point Church in Winnipeg. Donavan Friesen is the lead pastor and I want to acknowledge that without him following God with his whole life we wouldn’t be here today. He offered me a job, found a house for us and so much more for someone he hardly knew but God was speaking and he listened. He has modeled perfectly what it means to listen and obey God. He leads by an example that I want to follow.

That being said, all the views and opinions expressed on my blog are those of the author and do not necessarily reflect the official policy or position of Anchor Point Church (http://youranchorpoint.com).

I love writing and I love processing my thoughts in a blog format and that is why I do this. In any setting, on the internet or in person, as disciples of Christ we are called to love one another (John 13:35). Often Christians debate over secondary and tertiary issues, which I love to do! Yet, we should never sacrifice relationships on the altar of our perceived truth on matters such as eschatology, heaven, hell, or other secondary or tertiary issues of the faith.

I hope you find this blog entertaining and educational, but my primary purpose is to hopefully attract people towards Jesus Christ and if you already know Him, push you towards a deeper relationship with Him.

“The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.”
Romans 8:16-17.
